Human being and relationships have always been the subject of my art works. Besides the experience and observation of life, many inspirations come from drama and theatre works. In the process of making clay, I gradually realized the specialty of clay, just like people’s personality and the way of getting along with each other.
In my works “Human being, Drama and Relationship”, I use the form, modelling skills, and firing process to show the different sitution of human relationships. In terms of shape, abstract thin strips are used to symbolize the connection of people; in terms of firing process, the shrinkage and deformation of clay at high temperature are used to metaphor the mutual influence between relationships; the way of cutting reorganization is a for the recombination and adaption of relationships. The improvisation, interaction and playfulness implied in “play” also exist in the performance of the work.
In the beginning, the works are from “drama”, and in the end “drama” also exists in how the viewer interprets my works and exist in the overlap of everyone’s emotional experience
