This “Trailing Wonder” dissertation documents the author’s artistic creation transition from the traditional basic floral and bird ink paintings to the contemporary manifestation presentations. It details the author’s progress in searching for other stylings that differentiate her artworks from the field of traditional, and general, ink painting between 2017 and 2021. Incorporating subjective ideas with experimental techniques, together with those changes during art creation and personal concepts of relating to, and caring of, the universe, the author’s artwork symbolizes as the function of “conceptual Interpretation”.

The various stylings of historical flower and bird paintings, and the transition of the author’s artwork presentation styles are both detailed and discussed in this creation dissertation, which composes in totally 5 chapters:

Chapter 1, Introduction: The research motivation, purpose, content, methodology, definition and explanation of related terms. Also, by discussing the various manifestations from different forms of plants and the presentations of different space image allocations, it leads to the authors’ transition in artwork styles and the intention of making that transition.

Chapter 2, The Theoretical Framework and Construction of Theories: by looking into the transition processes of the flower and bird paintings from tradition to contemporary, and the aesthetics of manifestations between the east and west, how author constructs the image to the “Trailing Wonder”, including the argumentations, analyses, and implementation.

Chapter 3, Creation Concept and Practice: Starting from the traditional flower and bird painting to her current creations at the time, the author initiates the construction on the subject, depicts the thread of thoughts, the changing state of mind over time, and the progressive process during her artwork-creating.

Chapter 4, The Ideas, interpretations and analyses of artworks: description of creative thinking, idea, the creating process, and the content of each piece of the artwork in the 4 series.

Chapter 5, Conclusion: The author's reflections and argumentations to the result of this dissertation, which lead to the personally expected development of the current and future artwork styles, artistic language, and symbols.
