There is a boundary between the Taiwanese audience and the play “Phaedra” written by neoclassicism playwright Racine, because the audience lacks the knowledge of the context of the story and the format of French Alexandrine. There is a little stage direction in the script. The study will show the comparison between ancient Greek tragedy “Hippolytus” written by Euripides and “Phaedra”. The study also shows the design thinking through the observation of the power and the ways of seeing in social life and theatrical space. I wonder what kind of space would make the characters hesitate whether telling the truth or not. How could I use the common experience of audiences to break the boundary?
