In the 21st century, computer animation is an important visual media. The media improves many possibilities of the art performance. Different art creating theories and creating skills promote every kind of art performance.

Chinese performing arts have their own characteristics and differ from the Western performing arts. It is due to the distinction of culture. Shadow puppet show is a very special form of the Chinese performing arts, and there are still many possibilities in the making of computer animation. Hence it is worth to combine the special form of the shadow puppet show and the advantages of the computer animation.

Art can not exist without external form. Form and content form the peculiar art style. The script of the animation movie named “The Puppet” is written by myself, and the movie wants to creat a new visual-style as a form of shadow puppet show.
