This creative performance “The Thinking of Contradictions” showing and creating “The Thinking of Contradictions” wants to express that the author has the inner contradiction because himself or herself often cannot choose between things, and get into a dead end without results, and because of irresolution, things often cannot be done. Thus, combining the sense of zithers and the interactive interface of Leap Motion is to demonstrate sensibility. I construe deliberation and contradiction by the combination of these two. The performers utilize new media devices to drive the cross-disciplinary creation of images and changes of sounds. It lets viewers feel like a new performance which is different from a traditional show. In this creation, this paper investigates the works first, such as the performances of traditional musical instruments applying new music methods, interdisciplinary performances of self-made musical instrument, and live performances with interactive images, and lists the new performances of integrating musical instruments and new media devices, and finally focuses on “The Thinking of Contradictions” to explain the notions of creation and the methodologies in detail.
