The character deliberation and transformation that occur in every phase of the mother and daughter relationship are unique life experiences to a female. By considering the aspect of social construction in the culture, I intend to observe the shaping of motherhood from a fairer perspective. Consequently, I drafted the concept of "image of a mother" through my lens as a daughter. And extract the fragments of motherhood from my mom throughout every phase of my personal growth. Finally, through the disassembling of every stage of conflict between resistance and acceptance, alienation and reconciliation, I would be able to untangle the relationship with my mother that was deeply intertwined.
Sewing, stitching, patching chores were associated as feminine job throughout history. It has made a strong bond between woman and sewing. The imagery has also made appearance in my family from my mother. Through the inspiration of this particular memory, I extended the literal meaning of the word "Mending" to the impression of reconnecting a daughter's relationship with mother. And thereby utilizing the word "Mending" as means to string the impression for suturing, clothing, and moods. The creations come in three collections ⟨In Mother's Arms⟩, ⟨Defusion in silence, and ⟨Patching⟩. Each illustrates the different stages and inner status relationships of mother and daughter.
