The paper is focusing on Weng, Xin-fu's arkworks created within 2011-2014 and depicting "The Unconscious of Action Painting: A Study of Weng, Xin-fu's Creation of Self-Treatment". The research is to explore the relationship between Weng, Xin-fu's mental faculties (Neurotic Obsessive-compulsive Disorder, OCD) and his paintings in order to have a clear view of the insight and inspiration of his creations, and to reveal the power of the self-treatment on his own mental disorder through perseverance in painting. In the paper, the author studied the link of OCD and his paintings by the means of judging the verbal records of his own psychological conditions and his creative artworks, and he also summarized the history and forms of action painting and represented the unconscious emotions, which echo his personal creative style. The analysis of both his mental illness and the concepts of his paintings is based on self-treatment by unconscious painting and the technique of automatism to control his mental problem.

Through the research, the author found out that his personal action of painting mostly begins with unconsciousness and ends up with the conscious completion. However, the author has his own viewpoint that he did not do painting totally unconsciously, but there may be some consciousness in it because of the fact that consciousness is controlled by the brain, and the author is just inclined to paint at will and never aware anything else except paining. Afterwards, when the author tried to interpret what he painted, some pictorial symbols or signs with metaphors often showed up in the paintings, which presented his nature, mental disorder and OCD. The author expects to enrich his conception of painting through the study and discussion of unconsciousness, action painting, automatism, obsessional art and analysis on his mental problem and OCD, and to keep engaging in painting to treat himself. The author also wishes to, with the theoretical research, have the forms, context, concepts and aura of his works bloom and broaden the aspects of his paintings.
