The composition "Tone-Pictures of Qilian Mountains" consists of three pieces, namely "Dancing Sands", "Falling Snow" and "Wuling Mountains". It is full of melody nature and difficult to perform. Among them, "Dancing Sands" was selected as one of the designated pieces for the solo project in the selection of the National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan (NCO) Chinese flute players in 2019. In another major competition in Taiwan - National Student Competition of Music, this piece is often selected by the contestants as the self-selected repertoire. "Tone-Pictures of Qilian Mountains" is widely circulated and is generally loved by Chinese flute learners, so I am motivated to study this work in depth.

　　At present, the compositions of Lu Yao-Bo are rarely discussed. To obtain first-hand information, I use the method of interview and investigation to understand the composer's music history and process of composing; through the music analysis, I have a deeper understanding in "Tone-Pictures of Qilian Mountains ". On the basis, State my thoughts on the interpretation of this work.

　　This article studies the creative background of "Tone-Pictures of Qilian Mountains", and through the research of the composer and his works, I have a more comprehensive grasp of the music. Through these studies, the performance and interpretation of "Qilian Music and Painting" can be closer to the composer's original intention, and it also provides objective analysis and interpretation reference for Chinese flute lovers who love this work.
