Fragen attempts to reflect Buda’s perspective of life and death. It incorporates the Chinese pentatonic scale, traditional Buddhism melody, and the acoustic sonority of the Chinese Guqin.

In order to adapt the above concept to fit the keyboard language, the composer invented new compositional techniques.
