The Analysis and Interpretation of Percussion Duo 《Table Talk》

國立臺北藝術大學 / 管絃與擊樂研究所 / Author:CHAI, SHIUAN- TYNG

The content of the report will be based on the works of the percussion duo because the author believes that the performance of the duet will be more difficult than that of the percussion solo. In addition to testing the tacit cooperation between performers, there is more cooperation and master-slave relationship. From helping each other to chasing each other and even talking to each other, these are the most commonly used composing methods by composers to increase the difficulty of repertoire. At the same time, it also requires players to have a good interpretation ability. The most important thing about the duo is the so-called symmetry, the sense of balance that the two become one, and the sense of mutual benefit and mutual assistance in pursuit of the same goal. With the increasing variety of percussion instruments, in addition to percussion of general instruments, a form of performance similar to Junk Percussion has also been developed. The author heard the percussion duo "Table Talk" (Table Talk) composed by American composer Alyssa Weinberg by chance. . In this piece, various objects are placed on the vibraphone to perform, which is also a type of performance that the author has never tried, so "Table Talk" is selected as the content of the report.
