In 1870, French Army was defeated in the battle of Sedan in France-Prussian War. Napolen III surrendered. Part of Center-left republican activists staged political coup and intruded Paris. In August, 1871, Paris Commune was established; Second French Empire was, therefore , overthrown. The internal of France was turbulent. The established Paris Commune by the center-left party was suppressed by the center-right Royalisty. The future of France seemed to cast a shadow over groomy and shed no light ahead.And thus Societe Nationale de Musique of France, which was founded after Paris was occupied in Feburary, 1871, brought new life to the whole France. Undergoing the defeat of battle of Sedan, William Is ascending the throne in Palace of Versailles mirror hall, signing Treaty of Frankfurt, and ceding Alsace-Lorraine …, etc., due to all these insults, French people desperately needed to seek for discreting ethnicity identity and self-confidence, basing on the artistical and cultural accompolishments.
César-August-Jean-Guillaume-Heburt-Franck, 1822-1890, who was brought up under such circumstances, was well known as an Organist, a composer and a music educator. His well-known disciples such as Paul Marie Théodore Vincent dIndy, Amédée-Ernest Chausson and Eugène Marie Henri Fouques Duparc, were all then becoming la player. In 1858, he was account for an Organist in Paris Church and transferred from one another where he spent the rest of his life of being unknown to the public. Even though his fortunes, he didnt give up composing. In 1885, he created Violin Sonata in A Major, Symphony in D minor and String Quartet in D Major, which made him be recongnized as a composer in the French music society. Societe Nationale de Musique, which he founded, brought a prosperous era in the musical territory after the mid 19th century. In 1876-1886, the decade was considered as the golden age of developing French Violin Sonata.
