In the twentieth century, percussion music rose. Many composers began trying to create more percussion works by using different instrument combinations and more timbre development and seemingly infinite playing methods to make percussion popular. However, among the various types of percussion works, the comprehensive percussion performance requires reading seveal lines of sheet music, recognizing different types of percussion characteristics, overcoming the problem of instrument placement, and controling music skills.
There are a large number of works by Wan-Jen Huang, and the most famous performance is the "Intersect" duo, which was commisioned by the hitter Ming-Yi Lai in 2004. There are two part of voice in "Intersect" duo , just like two time and space are carried out under the same picture. They are connected to each other, and the concept of transmission is the same. The instrument configuration has a pitch percussion instrument and no specific pitch percussion instrument to alternately play in turn, so it will be more obvious under the contrast of sound. This paper will further explores the balance between these two types of dialogue, volume and tone.
This paper will be divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which explains the research motivation and method. The second chapter is the composer's life and the style of the work. The third chapter is the analysis of the "Intersect" work, the background of the creation, the analysis of the music composition, the material and development of the musical style. The fourth chapter is the interpretation of the music performance of "Intersect". The fifth chapter is the conclusion which is summarized as the previous four chapters.
