Abstract
This project is not just a family photo album，it is a story of my father；a story of my family。It is not only a life review of my father，but also a process that made me and my family to know and to hold each other again。
The beginning of this project was a documentary photo essay when I was a university school student in 1999。During the process of doing this project，I derived inspiration and went heart-searching。It occur to me that even there are many topics of photo essay，but the most difficult one is lay your camera focus on your family and to present it honestly。What makes it difficult is it does take a long time to truly face yourself and you must have courage to face your family。
The whole exhibition is divided in four parts。The first one is the daily life of my father。The imagines of this part present things my father usually do, even they are boring。The second part presents the life-journey of my father who left home to join the army in 1942、the process from China to Taiwan、how he worked、got married、 and how he raised children at the age of 40+、to be demobilized and study in university when he was 47、and get connected with his original family in China。This part tells all the audiences that you can not judge an old man by current situation. Because the man who is humdrum now may have an unordinary life experience when he was young。The third part presents the imagines which I took from 1999-2008。The end of this part are the photos I took, compared with the photos which my father took。It sends the message that time and people are changing very fast，but the love for our family is never changed。The fourth part is the place where I took pictures for those who came to see this exhibition。Doing this is showing everyone that you are elements of this exhibition. And no matter you come to see this exhibition alone or with your friends or with your family，you will have the social networks of your own by the end。
The different outcomes between this exhibition and others are：it is easy to interactive with the audiences, having emotional connections with them. Because it is
like a universal symbol contains smoothing feelings。It is easy to make the audiences have sympathetic responses. Because it is based on common experience which exists in every family of our community。
The greatest contribution of this project is that it not only agglomerate the emotion of our family again, but also made the audiences have edifications to truly live their lives。
