A Study on the Discriminatory Expression and Gesture of Tourette Syndrome for the Creation of 3D Animation:“The Tic Boy”

國立臺灣藝術大學 / 多媒體動畫藝術學系動畫藝術碩士班 / Author:LEE, HSIAO-HSUAN

Tourette syndrome is an unfamiliar disease to the public. However, the incidence rate of Tourette syndrome in childhood is as high as 1/300. Even if the disease does not cause health concerns to its patients, its comprehensive tics often lead to

misunderstandings and discrimination by the public, which in turn leads to

discriminatory behaviors, especially when they suffer from bullying, difficulty developing relationships and other social impacts in the school. Based on the experiences of family members with Tourette syndrome, the researcher conducted relevant literature reviews on the background knowledge of Tourette Syndrome, compiled symptom types, and summarized related topics from movies and television works. By analyzing the differences in the level of anthropomorphism in animals, four major elements were extracted: "hybridization degree," "character style," " habits," and "class relationship," and their correlation with the story was summarized. Summarize the correlation between anthropomorphism level and the story and extract the anthropomorphism level that fits the style of children's animation. the researcher created a 3D animation in an anthropomorphism style which is attractive to children. It is hoped that the 3D Animation "The Tic Boy" will resonate and empathize with children, thereby promoting the awareness of Tourette syndrome.
