Abstract

"Still" is the National Taiwan University of Arts applies the graduation manufacture work which Garduate School of Applied Media Arts graduate student Meng-Chia Yang fine in June, 2006 completes.

This film describe four people, include a vegetable whose life will die away little by little and three ' living people' who managed by destiny, how to receive the calmness that they really yearn for innermost at heart via the process they look for the answer of life. The inspiration of the film is taken from the real people and real events. The director shows some social issues such as teenagers' violence, illegal covert money dealer, and the violence of the household…etc by the multiple structure. Besides, he also display the sincere feeling between the vegetable and the male title role by the esthetic image style attempt to keep on the deep impression of the contrast between the reality part and the fantasy part in the film.

The total length of this film is 59 minutes, which is shot by the digital camera. Through the images that caught by the digital camera, not only appear the unknowable world of the vegetable, but also present the depression of the characters. In addition, because of the mobility of digital camera, the crews who have not enough experience enable to handle the unsteady scene, proceed to the next step to make the content of the film more abundant.

The entire piece starts from the compilation script, until dubs into the music, takes surpasses 18 months above time, this research paper mainly for take down the process of the film and also self-criticism. Furthermore, including all the difficult positions come up between the pre-production period to the post-production period I faced and how I solved them finally. The appendix file also included the whole script of "Still", an outline of each scene, story boards, casting tabulation, budget tabulation, progress tabulation, the cards of advertisement and the show bill…etc, hope that can offer some suggestions to film creators in the future, and through this thesis pass on the relevant experiences.
