The monster fantasy story has been an enduring theme in the world of art and literature. In addition to the common Japanese monster legends, European and American zombie and vampire horror themes, Chinese mythology of Shanhaijing. In Taiwan, there is also a set of folk tales and legends of its own, and as time goes by, urban legends and other modern monster cultures have developed.

This creation is based on the fantasy adventure story of a little girl and a little FU DOG from the temple culture, bringing out various traditional Taiwanese monsters and demons, and giving the audience an interest in the fantasy stories of Taiwanese monsters.

This creation uses the real-time filmmaking function by Unity as the main creation method. The work is produced with 3D computer animation and other complex techniques like 2D hand-drawn animation to present the overall art style. In the process of production, I found that the combination of 3D computer animation and 2D hand-drawn animation techniques has summarized three directions: “the expression of animation frames”, “the processing of motion”, and “the application of art style” can make the effect of combining different techniques more harmonious. The advantages of Unity's real-time filmmaking are “real-time rendering” and “synchronization of workflow”, which have the following three advantages and disadvantages in producing 3D computer animation: “significantly reducing the time cost of waiting for the calculation result in production”, “more preparatory work in pre-production”, and “requiring basic understanding of Unity's render pipeline and programming syntax”. I hope that this creation will serve as a reference for future creators who want to use Unity's real-time filmmaking to create compositing techniques animation.
