All painting works were produced while studying at the Taiwan University of the Arts between 2014 and 2017.
The author have an interest in Cubism. The school life in Tamsui in youth brought up especially strong nostalgic feeling to author and is the background for production of these paintings. The concept of Cézanne, Picasso, Matisse, Li Shih-Chiao, and Hogarth's "rule of formal aesthetics" influenced author’s skills in forming, coloring, and constructing. In expression of emotion, not only is author very much aligned with the aesthetics of ‘significant form’ promoted by Roger Fry and Clive Bell, but also tremendously agreed nostalgia and memory can impact a real-life fulfillment and satisfaction.
It is author’s passion that has kept painting as a habit for years, with memories and nostalgia to make life more complete. Through appreciation and mimic of art masters’ great works author expects to develop individual painting style and earn a unique position in future endeavor.
