“Can Art change the world?”—This is the statement from the French artist JR in the beginning of the TED Prize event.

We are living in the world which people consider materials are the priority beyond all kinds of things . When desire seizes the minds of human beings , we have becoming the slaves underneath material things. Neon and Adds took our souls out of our flesh , letting us forget the kindness of our nature. Technology in nowadays expands an interface which shorten the distance and knowledge. The spirits of human being has became chaos and rotten. Counter offensive from nature , the extinctions of wild animals, wars , mental disease ……. This world is not as perfect as what I see on the mass medias and adds .

Although we are all looking forward to see the beauty ,peace , and harmony in the art.

But what I think is , the spirits and judgements in arts are more imoirtant than the surface.Well said by Ernest Becker:”He must stand out, be a hero, make the biggest possible contribution to world life, show that he counts more than anything or anyone else.“In other words, the freedom of spirit refers to open up the locks from our society and politc.And then Arts has been exposed behind the beauty shell so that everyone can see the inner value of arts and interact with the pieces . observing the ridiculousness in our generation ,we can see that we are in the society which is filled with issues . As we find out the issues , then we can finally have the chance to make the world better.

We can not expect art can change the world . But in reality, Arts can change the perceptions , change the way we see the world , and also, art can create an analogy.

The fact that art can not change the world creates an open space , that people can converse and discuss in , and then even change the world.

Seeing the society with ridiculousness and issues makes me confuse , The value from those symbols , the violence which is acceptable ……, these things all makes me feel angry and frustrated.《The pieces of spaces 》in my paintings are exactly the phenomena that I have seen in my daily life. I intend to point out the contradictions inside the inner parts of us . create a new way of seeing .
