The creator major in Craft & Design and began to learn dance in university. While in the Department of Dance, he listened in on the course of “contact improvisation.” The creator is inspired by the new perspective towards crafting, and thus has the motivation of combining crafting and dancing. Inspired by the logic in contact improvisation, the creator collects the materials with the choreographing method of dance improvisation and takes contemporary jewelries of the metalsmith as the expression. After turning over the concept of wearing of contemporary jewelries with the logic of dancing, four sets of serial works are made in combination of dancing and crafting, connecting the dancers with the innovative wearing of the jewelries. With different materials, including stainless steel wires, cloth, elastic ropes, acrylic, magnet, electronic ingredients, and a variety of structural designs, the dancers and jewelries can affect each other, making the jewelries the variables of changing movements in dance improvisation as well as the clues for interacting with the dancers. By displaying the different ways of connecting between people, the concept in the creator’s mind can be presented, thereby igniting the inter-triggering between metalsmith and dancing, as well as showing the power of combined limbs and jewelries.
