A Study on Reappearing Anxiety and Self-examination for the Creation of Animated Short Film "Hair”

國立臺南藝術大學 / 動畫藝術與影像美學研究所 / Author:HUANG, YA-JOU

It has been found from experience that women are deeply affected by the idea

that hair must be removed, whether it is because of advertising or influence from

person to person. This anxiety comes from the fact that hair removal behavior is

influenced by the subtle impact of the social environment. Even though people can’t

figure out the reasons for hair removal, they are still affected and feel a sense of

powerlessness. Thinking contrarily, women's hair removal is not necessary. "Hair"

expresses the feeling of female hair removal intuitively by connecting experience. By

reviewing and analyzing the literature, the script narrative method and visual

expression elements of "Hair" are taken into consideration.

To construct a violent style plot, the non-structured storytelling method has

concerned the script development and character construction. Instead of using facial

expressions to express emotions, the combination of color, motion tempo, rhythm,

and sound is used to form an ambiguous atmosphere. In addition to 2D computer

animation, experimental animation had also been added to display various expressions

of abstract emotions that show different levels by the gradation of fluidity. In this

study, by constantly looking at self-concerns and problems, the author shares the

perspective change in aesthetics and responds to the initial questions in the end.
