The 3D animated short film is a fictional story based on the taboo on the Moon of Chinese folk beliefs, "if you point your fingers at the moon, your ears will be cut." The story focuses on the love between a father and his son. In the film, the Moon stands for an unreachable dream that the son wants to pursue; however, there is conflicts between the father and his son. Through conflicts between them, the main point of the story centers around if the father support his son or not.
In production, I adapt non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) technique for this film. I learned and developed a unique rendering process to create the 2D looks final images for the film that I hope the film will bring audience an unique visual experience of imaginations.
