On his second trip to London, Haydn finished his “Piano sonata E-flat major Hob. XVI: 52” . In its creation, Haydn used English fortepiano to compose, which had a richer sound and better acoustics. Thus, the grand form of this sonata differs from those of his earlier compositions and enjoys a higher status.

The study seeks to investigate the compositional styles and performance interpretations of this sonata. In the first and third movement, Haydn used different themes in writing. E-flat major, development in the first movement, is presented fully- blown in the second movement. The bold and innovative approach connects different movement. With so strong a variety in harmonies, rhythms, dynamics, and registers, dramatic intense ion, a richer content, no wonder this piece of work is representative in Haydn’s works.
