The paper deals with the personal traumatic experience (cancer), from feeling the shock and blow when I was informed of the cancer diagnosis to bravely facing and accepting the sequala of the treatment, surgery, and chemotherapy. I couldn’t let it go and therefore fell into a series of pessimistic situations. Mentally and physically exhausted, I was unable to get up. At that time, I decided to change my life attitude, believing that the rest of my life should not be like this. Therefore, I started to receive art healing, painting impromptu, going through the personal healing, relieving and releasing the gloom and passive emotions from cancer. In the process of art healing, I have learned to face the personal traumatic experience.

In terms of the creative theories, the attempted and extended discussion of the art schools

mainly aims at abstract art, expressionism, symbolism, and abstract expressionism. I share the similar styles and concepts with the following artists. For example, Joan Miró has the strongsurrealistic style in his works, painting the personal fantasy world with simple sketches. Piet Mondrian contends that painting should be simplified to the purest geometric elements. His creation of lines and rectangles is full of order without looking dull. The lines and colors in Edvard Munch’s works convey strong feelings and truthfully presenting his physical suffering and mental depression. Paul Gauguin employs flat washing and simplified style to express the presonal philosophy of life. Jackson Pollock adopts the impromptu drip and splash methods to bring new vitality to his creation. Antoni Tàpies combines different materials and textures to show a gloomy feeling with the Zen thoughts. I make an analysis and comparison of the artisits mentioned above and describes the inspiration and influence from their styles. The composition concept of lines, shapes, and colors serves as the understanding and perception in the learning of shapes and colors and aesthetic experiences.

Through the creative analysis of lines, shapes, and colors, I make a statement of my growing background and life experiences. After having a successful career, I went to the class in the museum and learned sketching from nature. Afterwards, I received the official academic education, which started my exploration and thinking about creation. In the expression of mixed media, I explain my attempt on the application of all sorts of media, afterthoughts, and the concepts I want to express. In the conclusion, I look back on my life, creative process, and the effect and feeling after the art healing for the trauma and make future prospects and wishes.
