A Mind of My Own-1

國立臺灣藝術大學 / 廣播電視學系應用媒體藝術班 / Author:Cheng, Hao-chuan

A Mind of My Own portrays the intimate and yet distant relationships between men and women in modern times with a touch of humor and magic realism. This is the author’s debut film and it was selected as one of a three-segment drama series presented by Life Story on the Public Television Service. Since its first broadcast on 20th December 2009 A Mind of My Own has been invited to numerous international film festivals.

The film was shot in HD with a running time of 29 minutes. It tells the story of Bing-Bing, an honest eccentric girl who goes into a coma after a car accident. Her soul leaves her body and her penchant for daydreaming keeps her wondering between the reality and her imagination. However, her boyfriend’s everlasting love and care for her gradually leads her to the fact she is in a coma and encourages her to fight for life together with the other souls trapped in the hospital.

This dissertation expounds on the concepts, the script structure and the work experience during the shooting and post-production that the author would like to re-exam and share with the readers.
