Being the sub-genre of sci-fi, “Cyberpunk” usually compares advanced technology with, to some extent, collapse of social structure, which is widely acclaimed by the public with such dystopian style and soon be merged into comics, movies, animation and other media. I have been so obsessed with the main character who undergoes transformation in order to resist society, the futuristic architecture, the special color scheme and other fascinating elements since childhood, so I decided to set this genre as the topic of this work.

This thesis first explores the origin and development of the Cyberpunk, then compiles its main features and compositional elements. After summarizing from three Cyberpunk-style films and animation works, which are Blade Runner 2049, Alita: Battle Angel and Love, Death & Robots, were summarized and organized. I found that the two elements, “tall buildings and dirty streets” and “cool color tones such as blue and purple,” keep great importance in the production of Cyberpunk-related works. So, I decided to make them the main visual points of CFP-862. Next, compiling the characteristics of posthuman and Cyborg, also comparing and analyzing the characters in The Matrix, Ghost in the Shell, and I, Robot, it comes to the conclusion that if I want to create a purely “posthuman” character without Cyborg element, I could remove the organism when designing the character. Thus, the design direction of the roles of CFP-862 is determined.

In order to demonstrate the colony in the factory, I separately rendered the robot characters in a row, and organized it by layer, made the production more efficient. Then, with taking advantage of the nodes of Cinema 4D could form the transparency and grainy holography. At last, I explored the "mental" and "visual" respectively from my work, for the purpose of the genre could be clearly recognized by the visitors. That is how I complete the short Cyberpunk 3D animation which have the "posthuman" main character.
