This thesis examines "6 Études de concert, Op. 35" by French Romantic composer Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944) and is in six chapters. The main purpose of this dissertation is to analyze these six Etudes and to offer suggestions for performance and interpretation.

Chapter one is the introduction and presents the research motivation and purpose, as well as the scope and methods of the research object. Chapter two presents a brief biography of Chaminade’s life. Third chapter is an overview and analysis of the six pieces of music. Chapter four presents suggestions for each work from musical and technical standpoints. Chapter 5 is the conclusion. The final chapter is the bibliography and includes references in both Chinese and English.
