《數位時空記憶》網路互動裝置藝術之創作與研究-2

國立臺灣藝術大學 / 多媒體動畫藝術學系碩士班 / Author:Hu, Chin-Hsiang

In this age we live in, many aspects of life have become digitalized. Digital media has replaced the traditional method of recording memories onto a piece of paper. With the advent of cloud computing, people now leave vast quantities of records onto online social platforms. Memories once captured by diaries, photos, and videos are now manifested as ―digital memories.‖ This research and the work, ―Recaller‖, focus on the discrepant nature between digital and real memories. This paper establishes the argument that the predominance of memories is diminishing in the digital age. Through online interactive installation art, one can express the creation, fabrication, replication, searchability, mass creation, and deletion of digital memories. This paper will also explore computer program aesthetics and digital memories. And, through the artwork, ―Recaller‖, the appearance of digital memories is presented. For this work, an interactive interface is reproduced through collaborative creation by many people. The database, time axis, and jigsaw puzzle of digital memories let viewers participate in the process of the work‘s creation, while also invoking deep thoughts about the influence and impact that digital memories have on humanity.
