Violin Concerto in D is Tyzen Hisao’s first concerto composition, which is commissioned by the Taiwanese United Fund. The purpose of Violin Concerto in D is to express Taiwan’s characteristics with western musical instruments, genre, and orchestration. Additionally, this work shows Hsiao’s patriotism and delivers his personal expressions to Taiwan.

The first half of the study primarily focuses on the analysis of the concerto in D through the discussion of Hsiao’s biography and musical experiences, as well as other compositional genres. The second half aims to present the relationship between this violin concerto and the meaning of lyrics that are quoted from his own songwritings.
