Summary

This study aims to produce creations for fashion design methods and to discuss the necessary space and structures for fashion design. Using scar images as a medium as well as the foundation of connections, the study also points out the possibility of body space and clothing space. It uses wound scars as a medium to extend to different types of space structures leading to a fashion design element of space form.

Scars are a transformation of images on the skin. Skin transforms to a new structural form through the cracking, destroying and healing of wounds-Scars. Scars are the third condition caused by the binary confrontation between skin and wounds. This third condition mediates the binary confrontation between skin and wounds. The theory of scar mediating means that scars mediate and compromise the space between the body and the clothes and thus create the mediating space of the third condition--- folding wrinkles. The body and clothes are binary individuals. The two individuals represent a type of contrast. Clothes produce folding wrinkles through body gestures. Folding wrinkles are the third condition caused by the relationship between the body and clothes. Therefore, folding wrinkles are a kind of mediating space as well as a concrete display of clothing space. Folding wrinkles continue to compromise and get involved to mediate and compensate the feeble relationship caused by the confrontation between the body and clothes, and thus produce a type of connection. This co-existing relationship is a condition in which body action affects clothes making the body and the clothes into one piece, the inside and outside into an inseparable whole. This third condition caused by the body and clothes shows folding gaps are a kind of clothing space.

This presentation focuses on the creation of a type of clothing space and "the third condition". The presentation presents individual concept with form and incorporate folding wrinkles with body movements to create space of folding mutation extension and transformation. Through clothing surface, body movements are presented. Folding wrinkles are used to present the flowing and solidification of clothing space. Therefore, folds are gaps as well as a concrete display of clothing space. The creation of folding wrinkles is also a creation of clothing space.
