This paper chooses the ship’s shape, surroundings and fishermen’s activities in the harbor as the main images of creation and tries to paint a picture of the Taiwan harbor in my mind.

The paper is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is about the motivation and purpose, which discuss from the aspects of, region, philosophy, spirit and locality of painting. The second chapter is an overview of the Taiwan harbor scenery, which introduces the name and number of harbors in all counties and cities in Taiwan, history construction, harbor topography, stylish colorful painting of fishing boats, coastal vegetation and climate characteristics using the list and map of the administrative districts. The third chapter is about the aesthetic discussion of harbor image creation, which quotes the classics and where I state my views from the external to the internal aspects of the images and from my own imagination; and then makes a chronological comparative analysis of the works of fishery activities and boat styles shown in ink paintings of past ages. The fourth chapter is about the thoughts on harbor ink creation and discusses the importance of techniques, reading and morality by learning from teachers, and then experiences nature by going outside and emphasizes on the importance and positive significance of sketching, then finally enters the ideals of painting Taiwan and having a global outlook to illustrate that works must be imbued with their own culture.

The fifth chapter is about the practice of creation and analyzes the works

during the Institute period from 2010 to 2013 which are divided into the “great

beauty of heaven and earth”, “metaphor and analogy interpretation”, “form

exploration” and “technological world”. The heart changes with circumstances

and the painting changes with the heart. Reviewing works, I’m shocked that

they change year by year; they seem to show different outlooks, but all belong

to my own perspective. The sixth chapter is about creation reflection and

future prospects.
