This study introduce the life story of Beethoven and analysis 15 Variations and Fugue, Op. 35 and Symphony No.3 in E flat major, Op.55. At last, this study will take the results of structural analysis into performance practice, trying to show how to play “Eroica Variations” with symphonic idea.

This study which is divided into five chapters, each chapter contains are composer’s personal life, the background, analysis and interpretation of the works. Chapter 1 discusses Beethoven’s life and music style in his three creative periods. Chapter 2 introduce the definition, history, types, techniques and features of the variations of piano variation, and discuss about the variations be used in Beethoven's piano compositions. Chapter 3 focuses on the historical background of Eroica Variations , analyzed the fourth movement of “Eroica Symphony” and found out the similarities and differences between them. Chapter 4 explores the performance issues and Exercise issues. Chapter 5 will conclude with the result of this research.
