The Creation Discourse of Computer Animation ─ “Fundamental”

國立臺灣藝術大學 / 多媒體動畫藝術學系動畫藝術碩士班 / Author:CHIU, SHIH-CHIEH

The animation project is about the injury of rigid religious upbringing to children. It is hard for outsiders to understand the conflict and struggles of adolescents that face religious abuse. By using metaphors of signs and symbols, the animation highlights and describes the mental illness caused by the conservative church on the lead character and illustrates how the character makes his way out from his dire situation. Accordingly, the audience will get to understand the syndrome and help others who face a similar issue.

This research is divided into three sections. The first section will focus on the creation of satirical animation. The second section discusses the background of extremist conservative churches and the causes and consequences of Religious Trauma Syndrome (RTS). The third, and final section is devoted to the design of this particular animation, covering aspects including script, character, and scene design. We hope the animation will prove to be thought-provoking and provide the audience with deliberation.
