“Reflection” The Creation and Research of 3D Animation in Interactive Performance's Cover

“Reflection” is a performance combining 3D computer animation and digital art. By using the Chinese characters and 3D animation character to symbolize external gazes and expectations. The performer can interact with the 3D animation character through the interactive programming sensor system to show self-awareness disorder and internal constraint. Under personal life experience and the observations of surroundings, the artiest used the form of interactive performance to released internal psychological stress. For instance, the artist attempted to show the ideal self and real self by using the reflection and the conversation between 3D animation character and real performer. When the internal emotion can’t be expressed, it leads to the emotional breakdown.

The literature review chapter includes two aspects, the first section explores the development and the characteristic of 3D animation using in performance. The second section explores the mirror stage of psychology and the related art works. The third chapter elaborates on “Reflection” concept and creative method, including storyboard and elements of creation. Finally, the production process and the introspection are raised.
