Abstract

“A continuous of space migration” attempts to investigate my personal paintings during 2010-2013. Because of immigration and studio changing frequently, it makes me feel disquiet and melancholy. Therefore, I start to create a series of paintings called “Travelling spaces”. This thesis tries to research, analysis and summaries how my immigration experiences influence my life and paintings. During the investigation, I refer to the context of art history, Gaston Bachelard’s home imagery, phenomenology’s appearance and hidden as my references. After analyzing, generalizing and coordinating, I find that excess of immigration experiences make me feel disorder and confused. Therefore, I try to collect my daily fragments directly perceived through the senses to start my creations. I use painting language to present my memory and imagination poetically and I find that my paintings show my inner expectation of home imagery. Moreover, I study and analysis Sigmund Freud’s dream theory to evaluate and realize my personal creation direction.
