The creation research among five chapters concerning “suspense” elaborated and analyzed different phases from the author during the process of thinking and creation from 2014 to 2017. Due to the fact that the contents of this creation research were based on author’s true growing experiences and living environments, these paintings were originated from author’s pure creation with ease. The author attempted to reveal and explicate the true feeling of suspense connecting from all the art works during his own individual creations.
The thesis of the creation research surrounded by the idea of suspense, and during the process of visual creation achieved the imagination and implication of suspense. A series of “Suspense in my Daily Life” revealed the atmosphere of suspense with creatures that are not definitely compatible with the real environment. A series of “Go ahead! Fish Head” expressed an implication and image of liberal consciousness. Moreover, this series intended to breakthrough and created a new existence beyond the reality by the challenging people’s sense, original concepts, and certainty.
The creation research begins from the motivation, the objective, and the methodology. The literature review referred from the concepts of suspense raised by the movie mogul, Alfred Hitchcock. Besides that, the author explored and discovered his own creative elements and further discussed about subconsciousness and memory inheritance extended from the theory of Carl G. Jung, Man and His Symbols. From the deep analysis of the theory, the author intended to pursue the common point via the connection between his paintings and surrealism. Then he took advantage of the creation skills from surrealism into his own paintings, and discovered his value from his creation research.
Through the steps of the research creation above mentioned, the author explicated his own mindset and the sequence of his creation in addition to the personal creative format, techniques, and the materials he mainly used in his paintings. In the result of this research, the authored reviewed all the theory he practiced and deeply reflected and observed his experience during his creation and tried to overlook any possibilities in the future.
