When we see an object and feel ups and downs in emotion, it means there have been some strong untouchable connections between the object and people.

The thing interesting me is how we can convert the abstract excitement to concrete work by wood sculpture. When I create works of arts, I always try to ask myself: why do I choose this material? How do I express myself more clearly?

In this paper, I introduced my works with four chapters, and addressed sculpture issues and the theme of creation. In the first chapter, I approached the theme from the viewpoint: the commemorative meaning in sculpture, from which I analyzed the spirit of the sculpture.The second chapter discussed two issues "The relation of sculpture and space" and "The sign and modeling in sculpture". I examined as the case the meaning of body image in the works, and analyzed why we should paint color on wood sculpture works and how we should show the abstract feeling in artworks.The third chapter returned to the essence of my works: the reason for choosing the material and the technology of carving wood. Lastly, the final chapter offered the summary of the paper.

Discussing art creation seems too early in this age. For people who have not experienced the worldand have not explored the life, it is difficult to create a touching artwork.In the time of contemporary art, the creator can use any skill and any form to show their ideas. I am still working hard to find my own way and my position.
