The goal of this Research is to investigate: how to use the rock band performance to develop teenagers' musical intelligence and promote self development. The method of the Research is "action Research". We also observe, record, participate, interview and use questionnaire in the process. The Research objects are 22 teenagers in the middle school, and they went through a 12-week curriculum. The conclusion shows that the musical intelligence of the students was developing well via rock band performance. It effectively enhanced their knowledge and technique on performance of instruments. At the end they were able to perform on stage. This promoted their self development and sense of achievement. This Research suggests that students can form a rock band in the form of students' club. The club can hire professional rock band performers and the music teachers to coach collaboratively. The school can use the students' club time to practice solo and band performances. It can use the format of semester-end performance for students to present their results. From a comprehensive point of view, to effectively organize and train school rock bands can provide a good educational environment for students' development of musical intelligence. This creative musical education method can provide a reference for future music education.
