In the history of China, Pipa flows to the surrounding Chinese system countries, from Tang Dynasty to Japan, and it hs been circulated into Vietnam during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It develops different forms, straings, playing techniques and style in different countries. This article is based on Japan Satsuma Biwa, Vietnamese High-frets Reformed Pipa and Chinese Pipa to discuss the Left-hand Techniques especially its String Bending Techniques by Japan Satsuma Biwa, Vietnamese High-frets Reformed Pipa and the technique of moving string of Chinese Pipa as the main topics to explore and develop the differences between its playing techniques.

The author expects to learn and understand Japan Satsuma Biwa, Vietnamese High-frets Reformed Pipa and Chinese Pipas history and music culture characteristics and explore the evolution and influence of Left-hand Techniques by the formation of the Pipa and the changing and influence of materials development of the strings.
