Beethoven is the most important composer in the western music history. His contribution has immense impact on the latter composers, and his composition made the musical style moving from classical to romantic.
In this essay, we will analyze the Coriolan Overture from its harmony, melody, and the transformation of the accompanying figures. In addition, we will observe the implication of Coriolan’s personality, inward emotion, contradiction, and eventually, the tragic death.
Beside from understanding the musical implication, it is vital to do the score study. The purpose of the score study is to realize the difficult part of the music and the structure of the whole work, which will help us perform better.
