Music aesthetics have different definitions in various literature, and the core definition cited in this thesis is from the definition provided by the concept of "Heteronomous art ". The formations of music aesthetics emphasize meaningfulness, which is fully reflected in popular music industry. Nowadays, popular music has become a carrier of modern culture, and the aesthetic perception of music changes with the time. Furthermore, the formations of music aesthetics in popular music has become more intricate because of the widespread influence of digitalized music recording technology and digital music platforms. The phenomenon has deepened the author's determination to study this subject.

This thesis is a study of author’s personal album. By analyzing the definition and composition of music aesthetics and applying to songwriting, the author aims to enhance songwriting techniques. In the analysis of the definition and composition of music aesthetics, this research adopts the method of music analysis aspects and textual analysis method. In the process of applying these to the songwriting techniques, this research has studied the elements of music aesthetics and the creation of music space, which involves music theory, song composing and mixing techniques etc.
