This paper is an interpretation and analysis of my compositions. These works are inspired and related to natural scenery. In nature, trees, insects, rocks and waterfalls always refresh my mind and thoughts, and these elements resonate musically and are projected into my creative process and then become part of my musical language.

The article aims to describe how elements of nature influence my creative thinking, how natural scenes are transformed into musical notes, and how nature plays an important role in my compositions.

This paper is divided into six chapters: Chapter 1 describes the motivation and scope of this paper; Chapter 2 is an analysis of “String Quartet”. In this piece, there is a ‘walking’ motive which occurs frequently, and the different gestures of this motive can be interpreted as some kind of monologue which reflects the struggle against life and evasion of reality; Chapter 3 traces the metamorphosis of the main motif- “butterfly” of “Octet”, inspects its stretching and diversity, and how the music associates the images of mountain views. Also, a few pitches from Olivier Messiaen's “Le Merle Noir” (1952) are used here to simulate bird singing; Chapter 4 analyzes the theme of “Trio” which are inspired by five configurations of "water"; Chapter 5 depicts how lights and shadows among trees is transformed into musical notes in “Quartet for flute, violin, pipa and marimba” , and discusses the central-tone technique applied in the music; Chapter 6 is the summary.
