Wang Lung-hau’s prosperous life was transformed into a catastrophe due to an accident. His wife died from excessive loss of blood caused by difficult labor. To his great astonishment, Wang’s best friend, Shen Chen-kwo, took everything away from him while he was undergoing the hardship. Wang was thoroughly overwhelmed as a result of the tragedy; he counted on his child to realize his unfulfilled dreams. Ever since the childhood, Wang seriously trained his child, with the hope that he could become extraordinary person accomplishing something extraordinary. The life was ostensibly impeccable but was actually fragile.
Wang’s daughter, Wang Fong-jie, grew up with only one wish—to realize her father’s unfulfilled dreams. In the process, she was extremely frustrated because of numerous difficulties. With her tears repressed, she gradually changed into another person, thereby wandering between the real and the fantasied. Incapable of distinguishing the true from the false, the more she would life to escape from her life, the more she became trapped inside. Was she eventually leading a life in the real world, or was she trapped in her own fantasy? No one knew for sure. The 《No Face, No Mind》was adapted based on a true story found in our modern day society; it reflects the problematic aspects of our society, presented in the style of black uncanniness.
