Having long been constrained by old-fashioned educational system and self-suppression lead to my lack of confidence and emotional instability. Staying to nature and engaging in artistic creation make me wind down and temporarily escaping from the influence of negative thoughts. The theme “from the bottom of my heart” plays the role as another opportunity for self-exploration and emotional release.
The articles in literature review verify the fact that the outmoded educational system deeply influenced my psychological status. Bamboo, rattan and traditional craft techniques were applied to incorporate elements of nature, such as ever-changing clouds and undulating waves, into the work to transform and release my emotions. The changes in color during experiment of bleaching and dyeing bamboo strips resonate my feelings. Through communicating with myself with artistic creation, I gradually sort out emotions and comfort the pain. Ultimately I regain peace in mind.
I created a total of 18 works and 5 different series respectively are as follows: The Way to Go, Regulate Respiration, To be a Mother, Undulating Waves, and Fantasy.
