This thesis begins with the author's creative context and links the learning process and experience. This discusses the use of visual elements in a fantasy style and surreal performance. Through the textual analysis of the film creation, the core spirit and the meaning behind the film creation are understood. To explore more possibilities and introduce the fusion of fantasy and surrealism, I created the film "Alien In The Vending Machine".
This work is based on full 3D computer animation. The concept of the creation is derived from a childhood experience of imagining while waiting for the Vending Machine. The motivation for my creation is to extend and expand this memory through the medium of animation, and to add interest to the landscape, culture, and symbols of the real world. People's imagination is constrained and bound by growth. This animation hopes to allow readers to break the limits of imagination and the innocence of returning to childhood.
The first chapter introduces the motivation of the creation, the source of inspiration and related processes. The second chapter discusses the historical context of computer animation, and deeply analyzes the various aspects of fantasy and surreal. The third chapter is about the concept of "Alien In The Vending Machine" which discusses the content of the story and the style of art. The fourth and fifth chapters detail the mid-term production and post-production process. And finally, the sixth chapter discusses the impact of computer animation on artistic creation, as well as its expectations and prospects for the future.
From art to design, from animation to film, technology is changing with each passing day. And as a creator of film or animation, we should return to the essence and return to the content of the story itself. After our own researches and discussions, we will continue to quench and reflect on our works in order to grow on this road and to make more contributions to this field.
