To me, the continuous memory in my mind could be explained as nostalgia, which is generated by the natural environment, the unlimited ocean. I translated my indescribable but intense nostalgic emotion into an visible image of inflating paper and metals. I always believe the image of inflating paper is derived from the method of how my hometown residents broil a neritic squid. Time after time, this motion then becomes a body intuition and is embedded in my daily lives. Therefore, as to write a memoir of this body motion and my delightful experience, I represented the sort of body intuition as my working method on the material I applied.
The organic forms I created from inflating paper built its own spaces. Moreover, by transferring different materials, such as metals, I developed four series of jewelry artworks from organic spaces, which are “Nature impression,” “Island scene,” “ Fun of planting,” and “ Homeward impressions pickled in the sea,” respectively. To summarize, through this technique to inflate metals and tracing paper, my invisible and undescribable nostalgia was given visible forms and became a contemporary jewelry series which could reflect myself and brought me a sense of belonging.
