The discourse “The Stele of Plant: The Printmaking Creative Discourse of Shih, Wen-Wen” was created by my own artworks during 2015 ~ 2018, when I was taking Master of Arts in Printmaking. Describe the course of creation, the choice of ideas and the way of art.

The artwork in this article is based on my observation of the daily life, with succulents as the main object of printmaking. "Plant" is a symbol of my daily life, and " The Stele " is a commemoration of the life stage.

Through the research of the historical development and genre of seal carving, to understand the aesthetic experience of the ancestors, to bring the rules and styles into my woodcut. At the same time, with reference to the artworks of contemporary artists Qiu Zhi-jie and Zhang En-li, learn about the translation of traditional art and the experience of daily observation and creation.

This creation discusses is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1: Introduction, through the review of my artistic learning experience, illustrates the formation of creation. Chapter 2: literature discussion, an overview of the development history of seal carving, and describe the influence of two contemporary artists - Qiu Zhi-jie and Zhang En-li – on me. Chapter 3: taking the method of seal carving, explaining the creative concept and technique description of seal carving combined with woodcut prints. Chapter 4: the practice of creation, describes the results of my artworks. Chapter 5: conclusion, to sum up for this discourse.
