In this thesis, inspired by the poem, Duan-jang (Fragment), written by Pien Chih-lin, the author discusses the musical idea and its embodiment of vocal work for flute, viola, piano, and mezzo soprano. Speaking of the musical idea and its embodiment, this thesis can be divided into two parts: one is the compositional idea; the other is the embodiment and realization of the musical idea. Throughout this thesis, the author presents the discussion on abundant musical elements, such as pitch, motive, dimension, dynamic, pause, and other musical materials.
