The Creation Discourse of the Interactive Sound Installation “Conventional Unconventional”

The artwork “Conventional Unconventional” is an interactive sound installation that incorporates lighting effects. Sound serves as the primary element, utilizing the crosstalk to create an immersive environment of chaos and confusion. The installation utilizes Max/msp software and Arduino programming to control the sound and lighting, enabling real-time variations in response to the audience's voices and generating stronger emotional reactions.

The artwork aims to simulate the chaotic phenomena present in modern society by distorting the audience's voices and reflecting the overwhelming presence of misinformation, ideological polarization, and social divisions. It prompts viewers to engage in deeper reflections on these contemporary issues, emphasizing the importance of sound as a medium for communication and personal identity. By interacting with the artwork, viewers are encouraged to contemplate their roles in today's society and question societal norms and values. “Conventional Unconventional” strives to raise awareness of contemporary social issues and inspire individuals to critically examine their own values and positions in society, ultimately seeking to find their own sense of worth and purpose.
