This study is based on the paintings that I created from 2012 to 2015 after I started my master degree. The topic of my paintings is about belonging. I created a series of work based on this topic and in my thesis I will discuss the concept of my work. Through my study period, I fist discuss how I feel about urban changes in our environment as the lead-in to the re-composition and transformation as the concept of my ink painting. When I compose my work, I try to find the connection and the belonging between the human and the environment as well as the purpose of one’s identity through my work.

When I created my work, I used similar experiences from people’s lives as the connection between myself and others, trying to evoke the identification of the value of our lives. I also want to discuss how we look at and express the connection and the transition between the spiritual world and the reality, the vague concept and the clear idea of it. It is an important issue on how we can create ink paintings that convey the idea about events that happen in real life that are different from the traditional landscape paintings’ forms and rules; yet we still want to contain the spirit and faith of the Eastern beliefs and interpret these ideas through my paintings. Transition and swing is the topic I defined after I studied my creation and the concept of my paintings. It is about the connection and belonging between myself and the environment. I also want to convey the process of these ideas and ideologies that exist in different times and space, trying to trace back to the very beginning of one’s existence and value.

My creation is not confined to using only one material or technique. I hope through my creation, I can convey my idea clearly to the audience, using my works as the record of my life. I analyzed and organized the process of my creation, hoping the audience can find the connection between them and my work, making art work a valuable communication media among people.
