Abstract
The study based mainly on the body sense. The further discussion was developed on the interrelationship of the following dimensions: the body and the human being, the body and the object, the body and the nature. As for the art theory, both Nietzsche’s and Merleau-Ponty’s body perspective were first noted. Moreover, the influence of fiber arts and feminism were discussed and the researher combined her work with the life experience. Action research and theoratical analysis method were used to discuss the study.
The purposes of the study are as the following: first, to look for appropriate object to express the feeling of body to the surroundings through the body sense and the perceivement of the body. Second, to express the sense or perceivement and the spirit connoted in the object through aluminum steel and paper pulp. Third, to explore the relationship of the self and the nature as well as the object and to decode the inner spirit of art.
In the introduction, the researcher expressed the purpose of the study, the research method and the limits of the study. In addition, the definition of the relative terms were included in this chapter. Chapter Two dicussed the theories of body from the perspective of philosophy and established the research territory in the history of art. In addition, the material used was explained and the influence of the arts to the researcher was detailed in this same chapter. Chapter Three expressed the background of the study and discussed the creative idea, the method and the material. In Chapter Four, the researcher presented the four series of her works. They were “the exploration of body”, “the series of object talk”, “the series of obstruction of humanity” and “the series of call for nature.” Moreover, the researcher tossed some questions. The last one was about things beyond the body. What else were still mysteries if they were not human, object or nature? Chapter Five concluded the study and offered the possibility of sustainable development, established by objects, natural works and the human being touched by the body.
